This year we’ve a steel band booked, along with the very popular Bay Singers and a number of new events specifically for children, including a scary Zipwire for Teddy bears – is your bear brave enough? Bring them along to find out We’ve also a limbo dancing competition, perfect with the steel band!
With over 215 entries already and with a maximum of 300 vehicles, we are already over 2/3 full! With a number of interesting cars and bikes registered, I’ll be posting some of them over the coming weeks.
So if you’ve not yet entered and want to make sure you have a place, please get your entry in soon, don’t wait till the last minute. Last year we closed entries 2 weeks early, it’s likely to be much earlier this year!
Entries are now open for Classics over Sands at Grange over Sands on the 11th August 2024.
Classics over Sands is to be held on Sunday 11th August 2024 on our usual venue overlooking Morecambe Bay in beautiful Grange over Sands. We had a record entry of over 320 vehicles in 2023, with the field at capacity. This year we have capped the age of the youngest vehicles at 20 years old, although we will consider younger vehicles by request. Last year we were able to make donations totalling over £6000 to PKD, St Marys Hospice and other worthy causes including the Cumbria Wildlife Trust & the Scouts.
None of this would have been possible without yourselves, the entrants, and your great classics – thank you.
Once again we are accepting entries made via our website only.
Vincent Carter, the Grange Over Sands Classic Treasurer recently visited St Marys with a generous donation of £2000, from the “Classics over Sands” car show held in Grange during the summer.
Our 2024 show on Sunday 11th August will be supporting Coeliac UK and Coniston Mountain Rescue. More details on the website.
Grange’s very own Classic Cars Show which took place on 13th August was our best attended show ever, with nearly 300 cars and motor bikes entered and with over 2000 visitors. Whilst the weather on set up day was awful; we were blessed with decent weather on show day.
All profits will, as usual, be split amongst our charities and local groups. This year we will be donating a total of £5,500 between our main charities, we will also be donating £500 to the local Scouts for their help with running the show.
Make a note in your diary as our show next year is scheduled for Sunday 11th August 2024. A big thank you to all our helpers for their fantastic support we couldn’t put the show “on” without you!
