History of Classics over sands

Our first event took place in 1995 since when it has become a fixture in the Grange & South Lakes calendar of events.  Whilst the event attracts Vehicles from across the North, it also supports local charities, with thousands raised over the years.  As the event became established, the numbers of entrants have increased dramatically, as have the visitors who come to view.  In 2023, our biggest show ever, we had over 300 cars and motorcycles, together with around 3,000 visitors!

We have have simplified  the show, inviting younger vehicles to ensure we have as wide an age group of vehicles as possible.  We are also asking our visitors to vote for the vehicles they would like to take home with them.

After 25 years we felt that a wash & brush up would be a good thing.  As you can see from our banner above we have re-named the event.  As before modern classics as well as truly historic vehicles are all part of the show, but we think the new name will appeal to a younger audience – essential if the event is to prosper in the future

As usual cars and motorcycles will have their own display areas.  This year all cars will be parked-up in order of arrival rather than by class.  This simplifies the field layout and reduces the number of marshals needed.  If you want to park next to your friends – all drive in together and you will be parked together irrespective of Class.

We intend to have four classes:

  1. Cars and light commercials up to 1959
  2. Cars and light commercials 1960-1979
  3. Cars and light commercials 1980-2004
  4. Motorcycles

Please use the “how to enter your vehicle” on the menu to access the entry system.
