Car Show Success: Charity Fundraiser Highlights

Despite some rain, which threatened rather than poured, we had an excellent turnout of both cars and visitors.  With a full field of cars and the usual eclectic entries: Messerschmidt 3 wheelers, a Bond Bug, a huge Forward Control Land Rover and lots of fast Fords.

With £8,000 to split between our chosen charities St Marys Hospice in Ulverston, Prostrate Cancer UK and two local Prostrate Cancer support charities operating within the Northwest and Morecambe Bay.  We will also be supporting the local scout group in Catmel with £1250, Cumbria Wildlife with £750 and Kent Estuary Young Farmers with £600.  The Scouts and Young Farmers help us with both parking and the “heavy lifting” with moving all our gear.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who help with putting on the show, as well as our local committee which spends a year planning and organising.  If you would like to help, in any way, with next years show, please let me know on classicsoversands.org@gmail.com.
